Mez Packer was born in Essex, UK in 1966.  She attended Southend High School for Girls, then SEEVIC (South East Essex Sixth Form College) then Warwick University where she studied Philosophy and Literature.  Although raised in Essex she never danced round a handbag, or wore white stilettos, but she has cavorted round stone circles wearing day-glo.

During the 80s she lived in Europe and sang jazz in bars and nightclubs. In the 90s she brought up two children, traveled widely in Asia and the Far East and began a career in the media, working as a Broadcast Journalist for the BBC, a magazine editor and more recently a lecturer in Media and Communication.

Mez’s debut novel Among Thieves is published by Tindal Street Press.  She lives in Leamington Spa and is Associate Senior Lecturer in Interactive Media at Coventry University.
