Asil – Pure

I’ve been friends with photographer Tariq Dajani since we were at university together in the 80s. He moved abroad (spending time in Sweden and the Middle East) and now spends his time flitting between Dubai, Jordan and London.

In the last few years his striking and unique photography has really begun to get attention and his up coming exhibition in Dubai looks set to grab even more. His beautiful, almost sensual images of purebred Arabian horses are truly breathtaking.

So if you’re passing through Dubai then be sure to take a look. It’s at The Empty Quarter, Dubai International Financial Centre from October 6th-16th.

Otherwise you can take a peek at a whole load of Tariq’s photos on his website:

My colleague, Paul Smith (Senior Lecturer Photography, Coventry University) also got a mention on p24 of the same issue of The Word.

Paul shot a series of photographs for Robbie Williams and his artwork for the album cover Sing When You’re Winning (2000) is “as thought provoking as the music isn’t”, according to The Word. I’m inclined to agree 🙂
